sharing the message
We have decided to take pass-a-long cards with us on our weekly outings and do a little missionary work when we are outside of the MTC on our P-day (Preparation day for us is really our play-day.
Here are the two young guides that Grandpa/Vernon taught about the basic beliefs of our Mormon faith while they shared with us the history of the pieces of Art.
We left feeling good and decided to take Book of Mormons with us next time we go
In the class room
I am back in the classroom trying to learn Portuguese.

The German influence in Brazil
We took the whole day on the11th of July and drove up in the mountains to this delightful German town. It is quite the tourist attraction.
most of the restaurant have tables and chairs and these umbrellas on the sidewalks leaving little room to walk
shops and homes all have this German influence in the architecture

memories of preaching in Brazil
this is the plaza where Grandpa/Vernon held his first street meeting in Brazil. He could not speak any Portuguese but his senior companion translated for him.
We visited the plaza and the cathedral on the 4th after our picnic in the cafeteria
this is looking down on the plaza from the cathedral steps

fourth of July in Brazil MTC cafeteria
the cafeteria workers all wore these huge hats
there were balloons everywhere and a icecream bar. This is Doctor Lindford and one of the missionaries.
this is where we usually sit for all our meals. it is by the door going out of the cafeteria so I can wave to the missionaries and they can stop and talk to grandpa/Vernon if they need to. Sister Lindford is the doctors wife.
here is an other shot of the cafeteria so that you can see the rest of the decorations. They also had a huge american flag on the wall as you walked into the cafeteria. They served hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, chicken, potatoe salad, watermelon and the rest of the trimmings. It was fun. The missionaries all sang the Star Spangled Banner and they sang it again on the 6th on Sunday morning at mission conference.

the mail
this is where I put the letters for the missionaries here at the CTM. Each box is a district. Each district has between 6 and 12 missionaries This is the post office where I take the first letter home from the Brasilian missionaries each week
this is where I store the letters that arrive after the missionaries have left for the field. I pack them up on fridays and mail them through the church pouch out to all 26 missions. I also send all the American missionaries' first letter home to Salt Lake. Then they are put in the mail in the USA and sent to all their parents

Happy Birthday Anne
We love you! Congratulations on David passing the last test to obtaining his architectural license. I can’t think of a better Birthday present. You both worked so hard to make this dream come true.
